Fujifilm Industrial X-Ray Film

Fujifilm IX industrial x-ray film features revolutionary new film technology. You can be assured of optimal image quality, consistent results thanks to Fujifilm’s up-to-date emulsion making technology and computerised manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the entire IX range of industrial x-ray film is compatible with all NDT chemistries and existing brand/tank/automatic processing conditions.

The IX range of industrial x-ray film utilise unique speed and grain technologies that permit their use across a broad range of applications while maintaining consistent image quality regardless of the materials to be examined and x-ray source used.

Film Characteristics

Fujifilm IX industrial x-ray film is characterised by:

  • High image quality – with high defect recognition due to fine granularity
  • Consistent performance – computerised manufacturing ensures the constant performance of film between batches enabling you to be more productive, minimising set up times
  • Low density unevenness – high uniformity of the emulsion coating effectively eliminates density unevenness that can occur during automatic processing of some other products

Fujifilm IX50 Industrial X-Ray Film

Fujifilm IX50 is an ultra-fine grain, high contract ASTM Class 1 film exhibiting excellent sharpness, low graininess and high discrimination characteristics. It is suitable for use with any low atomic number material where fine image detail is imperative. Its ultra-fine grain makes it makes it very useful in high energy, low subject contract applications where high Curie isotopes or high energy output x-ray machines permit its usage. Wide exposure latitude has been demonstrated in high subject contrast applications. It is generally used in direct exposure applications with lead screens.

As with other grades of Fujifilm x-ray film, IX50 is characterised by:

  • High image quality with high defect recognition
  • Consistent performance batch-to-batch
  • Low density unevenness thanks to the uniform emulsion coating

  • Non-interleaf – sheets and roll pack
  • Pb Vacu pack/Lead pack – sheets and roll pack

Applications

Fujifilm IX50 is suited to applications such as:

  • Castings – low to medium atomic number metals where it exhibits high levels of sensitivity
  • Weld inspection – where it is highly sensitive
  • Graphite epoxy composites/carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP)
  • Electronic parts
  • High curie isotope exposures

Fujifilm IX80 Industrial X-Ray Film

Fujifilm IX80 is an extremely fine-grained, high contract ASTM class 1 film suitable for detection of minute defects. It is applicable to the inspection of low atomic number materials with low kilovoltage x-ray sources as well as inspection of higher atomic number materials with high kilovoltage x-ray systems or gamma x-ray sources. Wide exposure latitude has been demonstrated in high subject contrast applications. IX80 is generally used in direct exposure techniques or with lead screens.

As with other grades of Fujifilm x-ray film, IX50 is characterised by:

  • High image quality with high defect recognition
  • Consistent performance batch-to-batch
  • Low density unevenness thanks to the uniform emulsion coating
