Phi Optics – Quantitative Phase Imaging Solutions for Life Science

Phi Optics was established in 2009 to cater for a growing need for Quantitative phase Imaging (QPI) enabled devices. Based on their QPI platform, they continue to develop next generation optical imaging solutions. Phi Optics’ solutions are designed to conventional optical microscopes in a range of market sectors.

Their technical expertise is underpinned by an extensive portfolio of patents developed both in-house,  as a result of continuing research and development and secured through licencing agreements.

Target Markets

Their QPI solutions have benefits for markets including:

  • Life sciences
  • Medical diagnostics
  • Nanotechnology
  • Semiconductor testing

Technology

Phi Optics develop QPI which is a real-time 3D topographical technique that extends the analytical capabilities of traditional light microscopy modalities such fluorescence, DIC, phase contrast etc. This combination of techniques offers a significant advantage for applications requiring low-cost, fast and accurate imaging of nanostructures.

Their system also enables traditional light microscopes to track changes in living cells and organisms over time and are suitable for short and long term dynamic biological studies.
