X-Ray Inspection Systems

In 1997, YXLON introduced the Y.MU2000-D universal x-ray inspection cabinet. By September 2012, there were over 490 of these in use. In August 2013 they introduced the Computed Tomography (CT) upgrade that could also be retrofitted to existing systems.

In 1997 YXLON introduced the Y.MU231 which has become the world’s bestselling modular wheel inspection system with over 200 systems in operation around the world. In 2004, they introduced the Y.MTIS was introduced and had similar success with another 200 systems sold.

In 2009, Yxlon introduced the Y.HDR-Inspect imaging system that has already sold 100 systems and seems destined for success.

Computed Tomography (CT)

YXLON has been offering Computed Tomography since 2003. CT is the technique of choice for materials testing when more detail and precision is required than is possible with 2D radiography. It also offers the advantage of geometric dimensioning which can be extremely beneficial in research and development scenarios.

Mobile/Portable Constant Potential (CP) Radiographic Units

Yxlon (formerly ANDREX)  manufacture a range of portable and mobile constant potential (CP) x-ray generators that are suited to field NDT applications. They have been designed for ease of transport so they can be easily deployed in remote locations and are suited to operation in all types of industrial environments.

These x-ray generators have been specifically developed for reliable and efficient materials inspection applications. They are also suited to use in demanding conditions where they deliver highly stable x-ray outputs regardless of temperature fluctuations and weak or disrupted power supplies. This ensures production of dependable results with low energy consumption.

Their portable x-ray generators are characterised by:

  • Robust construction
  • Reliable operation
  • Ease of use
  • High power output in a low weight package
  • Optimized for cost and efficiency

Applications

Their radiographic units are commonly used for

  • Weld inspection
